I started a rock music appreciation society at work (I know, I’m awesome) and from humble beginnings we have grown to a substantial membership size. RockSoc shall take over the world! Or something.
One of our first network events is to swap CDs with each other containing our Fave Tracks Of All Time. I started compiling mine today and I’m not sure if these are my Fave Tracks Of All Time or What I’m Loving Right Now. Here’s the track listing from my submission to the first RockSoc CD Swap and yes, I know they’re not all rock songs but that wasn’t the brief, ok? Now I have to get them to all fit onto one disc…
- What’s a Girl to Do – Bat for Lashes
- Nara – E.S. Posthumus
- Liquid Lives – Hadouken!
- Remain – José González
- Dream Brother – Jeff Buckley
- Sayonee – Junoon
- My Love ft T.I. – Justin Timberlake
- On – Bloc Party
- Kashmir – Led Zeppelin
- Fame – David Bowie
- Tanhai – Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
- There Is a Light That Never Goes Out – The Smiths
- Lover, You Should’ve Come Over – Jeff Buckley
- Butterflies and Hurricanes – Muse
- Climbing Up The Walls – Radiohead
- Superstar – Sonic Youth
- Schism – Tool
- Mojo Pin – Jeff Buckley

RockSoc at work??? Yeah, awesome to pull that one off.
The only society I’ve ever been involved in is the QuantSoc (Whooo!).
Maybe that says something about me.
Maybe that says something about the company I work for.
Maybe that explains your company’s “issues” recently… Who said rock’n’roll never hurt anyone…?
Oh, and, just finished watching: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0074qmq/
Oi, we do not let RockSoc get in the way of our jobs! 😉
That’s an hour long!…My internet-induced short intention span won’t let me watch something for that period of time.
Well something got in the way of your jobs!
Just watch 54.55 – 58.59 then. I’m sure you can deal with 4 minutes of genius.
Hey man, the damage was done before I even got there.
Okay, I’ll check out the 4 minutes.
Okay, I’ll let you off this once, as long as you add a PJ Harvey track to your RockSoc “Fave Tracks Of All Time” CD. Deal?
Mayhaps.
