Oh dear

I’ve started talking about Hello Kitty. It may be time for a break. I’ll be back before you can say “lack of sleep”. Join the mailing list if you’re a true believer.
Before I go, one question. If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

  1. Based on the past few weeks (or months even, probably since May), I’d say, if I am limited to one and only one song, it’d probably be Elaborate Lives by Tim Rice and Elton John from the musical Aida. Not really since May, but in the past few weeks I have been quoting verses from this song as answers to many a question thrown at my direction. Of course “We all lead elaborate lives” and “We all live in extravagant times, playing games we can’t all win” can be synonyms for such standard reply-phrases as: “Whaddu I know?,” “What can you do; it is, how it is,” “S/he ain’t whacha think s/he is,” and “Aye, don’t look at me, it ain’t my fault.”
In the past (decade[s], years) I’ve had similar sentiments about MJ’s Man in the Mirror and Melissa Etheridge’s Come to My Window.

  2. Rebel Heart by The Corrs. I really have listened to it for hours and hours on end, for days in a row. It’s very calming, without being boring.

  3. OK, I’VE BEEN HUNTING ALL OVER FOR BLUE HELLO KITTY FLOOR MATS FOR MY CAR, ALL THAT STUFF AND NONE OF WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR, DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THEM???
