You know what would be really great? On-line instruction manuals. For example, I hardly ever keep instruction manuals for electronic goods. Clutter are they. But then, uh oh, I need to know how a certain feature works on my digital cordless phone and I’m pretty much buggered because I threw out the manual ages ago.
Solution: log on to the manufaturer’s site, find the instruction manual (pdf or html version) for that particular model of phone and ‘flick’ through it. Or I could even download it onto my hard drive for future reference and have a folder full of manuals for all my gadgets. Without the clutter.
It has probably already happened….

Yes, it has already happened. Most computer related stuff have manuals online. Dunno about consumer goods though. Can’t imagine some of the cheaper stuff (blender, toaster, Casio wrist watch) having manuals online.
Computer related stuff is a given. It’s the other ‘cheaper’ stuff I’m talking about. That would be mighty handy.
