The ladies’ prayer room at work is a treasure trove of bizarre items. Last week I found the following things there, some standard and some not so:
- Shawls
- Ramadan timetable
- Flourescent yellow high-visibility jacket
- Pair of brand new (tags intact) M&S men’s khaki trousers
- Dozens of paper napkins
I’ll keep you updated with any new arrivals.
Sidenote: I have spelt “you” as “upi” twice today.
You have a ladies prayer room? We’re a little more progressive over the way… none of this segregation lark…
Well we have a little cupboard in which we put the standard fair: Prayer mats, Qurans, Books, Shawls etc. But some of the more notable items:
* KSIMC Standard Issue Torba.
* Advert for “Islamic” women’s jewellery.
* High-visibility jacket (perhaps for business travel to the US).
* Small bottle of perfume. (musk?)
* Date stones.
* Large hold-all, complete with sign saying something along the lines of: “Please remove this item from the prayer room. If it is still here at the end of the day, it will be disposed of.” This has been there for about a week.
P.S. how do you put html bullet points in comments? It’s been a while.
Actually it’s called “Multi Faith Room 2”. We also have one for men and women to share but it’s like a broom cupboard.
What’s makes jewellery “Islamic”?
