I watched Spider-man this past Sunday and was too embarassed to tell everyone that what really fascinated me was the science aspect of it all.
However I’m glad I’m not alone. Tomorrow’s World did a whole programme dedicated to the subject and if like me you missed the show on the BBC check out the site. Answers to questions such as “could a spider bite really transfer genes?” and “does ‘Spidersense’ exist“? There’s also some information on spider silk.

I think if my sister had any doubts that I’m a geek they were totally squashed today when I got overexcited hearing the5k.org mentioned on the local radio.

What bright person thought that creating a site that no one can read or navigate would be a good idea? I’m all for ‘art’ and ‘expressiveness’ but damn you.
Ignore me. I’m just pissed that my dream to be Samarium has been sorely shattered.

I tried squid! For someone who has had cornflakes for breakfast for the best part of their life for fear of change that is quite an achievement!
(Ups: tasted like prawns. Downs: looked like squid.)

Him: Hey!!
Me: Yeah?
Him: Saima right?
Me: Yeah.
Him: Don’t you remember me??
Me: No.
Him: *Goes on for half an hour about how we used to hang out and were in the same class. Apparently I even bought him a birthday card once*
Me: Okay.
Him: You still don’t remember me??
Me: No.
Moral of the story: When I’ve had two hours sleep the previous night I wouldn’t even remember my own mother.

I like reading the F.A.Q. sections of sites for fun. Even if I’m not interested in the content of the site, the F.A.Q.s are great reading material. Ahem.
