My Spot

Apparently I belong In Rochester, NY out of all the places in the whole world. Spooky since the only pen pal I had while I was a kid lived there. Yep, the Flower City sounds perfect. Where do you belong?
Song Recommendation of the Day:
Title: Machinehead
Artist: Bush
The mood created: The desire to whip out your air guitar and give it some serious thrashing.
The Covers Project: “…a database of cover songs (songs performed by an artist other than the original performer) with the intention of creating cover “chains.” A cover chain is a set of songs in which each song is a cover of a song by the band who covered the preceding song.”
Jyoti Mishra. Ring any bells? Remember that song “Your Woman”? Remember White Town? Well that’s Jyoti’s band and he earnt my respect when his song went to number one here in the UK but he refused to perform on TOTP because he said dance acts always came across crap on it. Couldn’t agree with you more.

People I’ve met

I think it’s so funny when people put a * next to a URL on their link list to show who on their favourites list they’ve met in real life. It’s like they think I actually care…or maybe they don’t care that I don’t care. Funny nonetheless.
These hairstyles are filed under “funky”. I’d like to re-file them under “FUGLY”.
This is the cutest thing I’ve seen in a while. Oh, and this too.

Things to Blog

In my ‘Favorites’ folder I have a section labelled ‘thingstoblog’ which contains links I want to one day write and tell you about. Unfortunately sometimes I forget it’s there and as a result I accumulate a lot of links that have a) most probably been talked about everywhere else by now or b) are just not that interesting in retrospect. However sometimes I go back to that folder and am reminded about a gem of a link. Like:
The chemistry alternative to the Jabberwocky poem. Because I’m a big geek.
Something Sally might be interested in: Cats Painted in the Progression of Psychosis of a Schizophrenic Artist.
A different take on the Mid-East crisis that is making more sense to me than viewing either side as totally innocent.
Slapstick!
Asher D‘s never fading, smoking mad Gs like a Jamaican..”

Hasta la vista

Younger sister: Oh I don’t like him (points to Arnie on the screen). Wasn’t he in “The Communicator”?
Everyone falls about laughing for a few minutes.
Me: Yeah I can imagine how that would be scary. “Sarah Connor?” “Yes.” “I have been sent here to kill you but before I do, let’s talk about the options that we are faced with and hopefully reach a informed resolution.”

How to annoy me

1) Keep saying that Ryan Phillipe is just a pretty boy.
2) Use all of my Oil of Olay Active Body Fluid.
3) Pinch my cheeks, especially the ones on my face.
4) Play the “circle game” with me without informing me what it is or that I’m playing it.
5) Be Arnie in Commando.
6) Look like an inorganic chemistry book.
7) Tell me how you’ve been revising for the last six months.
8) Be a fish that refuses to eat anything but the other fish in the tank.
9) Say “So?” fifteen times in a row just to be irritating.
10) Call me “Thaima car”. It’s cute because you’re 2 years old but I’m not taking you out in the car for the twentieth time today.

Show me some love, strip off your clothes, and take off your socks

Thumb nails taste better than finger nails.
A back catalogue of Calvin Klein ads. I must say Mark Wahlberg has always been a particular favourite. Umm, apart from Antonio Sabato Junior of course…. That’s why The Big Hit is such a great movie.

I am the DJ

I’m organising the music for a party this weekend. Any song suggestions?
Meanwhile, a mini tour of Japanese art.
Elmer Fudd translates this web page. In fact the Cockney one is exactly what I sound like…init.

How to have a bad day

1) Wake up at five to one in the afternoon.
2) Wake up to your sister asking you for a lift to college. She needs to get there for one o’clock.
3) Realise that the people in the neighbouring town don’t like you.
4) Wash your filthy car that has bird droppings on it in the freezing cold till your hands are numb.
5) Imagine the prospect of telling a rather large man why you’ve splashed his brand new car.
6) Run downstairs when your little sister screams that one of your fish have eaten the other fish only to discover it was just hiding behind a plant.
7) Have a kid throw Ribena over your brand new white apparel.
8) Watch an interview with the So Solid Crew.
9) Realise you have less than a month to revise for seven exams.
10) Eat raw cheese by mistake.

Right on, right on

Monique has expressed precisely my feelings about the web lately. Let’s start a revolution. When I can be arsed.
Note: Sea monkeys are an anti-climax.
Song Recommendation of the Day:
Title: Rock the Boat
Artist: Aaliyah
The mood created: Sudden urge to take a ferry ride from Dover to Calais and proceed in making a prat of yourself by painfully describing what ice cream you want in ‘French’ and not realising the person working there is in fact English.
